Valetine's Day originated like many holidays; Mother's Day, Secretaries Day, Boss' Day, Grandparents Day, etc. as a consumeristic conspiracy by the floral, candy and greeting card industries to boast their sales. And it's worked, for woe to the husband who fails to purchase these things for wife on Valetine's Day.
Maybe by a wife that wanted to light a romantic fire under her hussband's butt?
