Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Do you think that we will be forgiven if we decide not to even try to forgive others? In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells us the answer in the Sermon on the Mount. And his answer is "No". He tells us if we don't forgive others, then our Heavenly Father will not forgive us.
Forgiveness can be hard though, can't it? Maybe there is someone you need to forgive, but you're having a tough time doing so. If you are bringing this problem to Jesus, asking for his help, Jesus will help you. So if you haven't completely forgiven yet, but are truly trying, I believe God takes that into consideration. After all, He IS a God of grace.

I am dealing with a lot of issues around forgiveness as I prepare to leave this appointment and move to a new one. Asking for forgiveness for my failures while asking God for the strength to forgive those who have wronged me has been a blessing in more ways than one.

Wayne, if you need someone to talk to, let me know. I remember my first appointment was for the most part very special. But there were some stupid mistakes I made and there were also some things that happened where I allowed myself to get hurt.
I guess, looking back, I appreciate it all. For God works in ALL things.
