Holy Week Thought of the Day !! (Day 1)

Today is the beginning of Holy Week. So today I ask that you begin thinking about the last week of Jesus' life and how it affects your life. Read Mark 11-15 for the more succinct version and Luke 19-23 for the great storyteller's version of the Passion story. Do not read the story of Jesus' resurrection. We must go through the darkness of Good Friday first and then Sunday we'll celebrate the light of Easter.

I learned yesterday in our Lenten Bible Study that the Greek word for the Passion of Christ actually means suffering. And that is exactly what God did for us as Jesus was denied, betrayed, mocked, beaten, berated, abandoned and crucified. Think about your own life this week, and ask yourself if there is anything that you've gone through that God cannot understand. Make sure you remember the death of Jesus this week. For when Sunday comes, it's just another day if we don't realize the significance of the Friday before when Jesus died.
