Thought of the Day !!

Again I say, don't get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights.  A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people.
                                                                     2 Timothy 2:23-24 (NLT)

Churches split over foolish arguments.  Spouses divorce because of them.  Families are torn apart over these foolish, ignorant arguments.

How many of us argue over something that doesn't really matter in the whole scheme of things?  I use the example of the color of the carpet that can split churches.  Maybe it's not the color but the brand or style or who we buy from or who decides or etc.  Most arguments that we have are not over Kingdom issues in our churches, but over foolish things that don't matter at all in whether or not somebody comes to know Jesus.

Why not put all that energy in conversations about how to best attract unbelievers or what ways of building up God's Kingdom should be tried next?  I don't mean we should argue about these things.  But why can't we focus on these things?  Then we just might cease arguing about things that no one will remember 10 years from now.

In the love of Christ,
greg
