Greg,

I don't understand the question. Do you mean is it good or evil to have money? Or something else?

It can be a blessing or a curse. It depends how you use it. Hoarding it is bad ("fool, you die tonight!"). Using it wisely and sharing it is great.

Keith,

What do you think the Bible teaches about it? What understanding do you receive from the Bible about it?

I don't see a Biblical view of wealth, per sey. I think there is a Biblical view of dealing with money.

Many of the Old and New Testament Saints which we commonly look to as mentors were extremely wealthy persons. Abraham, David, Job, Solomon, Nicodemus, just to name a few.

The issue is what you do with your money or what value you place on your money in relation to other thinks. Ananias and Sapphria in the book of Acts were probably much less wealthy than any of the above folks, but they loved money more than they loved God.

That is why avarice is one of the list of seven deadly sins. And I think one other thing that Christians often overlook. The Bible is pretty clear that foolishly giving money away and wasting it is just as big a sin as hoarding and loving it. I don't think God cares how rich one is, it is how much one love money that is important to God.
