Question of the day ??

Yesterday after church I had someone come up to me and ask me when I was going to start telling "these people" how God was bringing all these disasters on us for a reason. I told him I wasn't because I didn't believe that to be true. He didn't like my answer. What would you have said?

I would have said the same thing. You were honest and matter-of-fact. If this person doesn't believe you or like your answer, what makes him think "these people" would believe you or like your answer if you said otherwise?

I firmly believe that God is with us in the aftermath of disaster as he uses us to comfort and aid others.

It is in the aftermath that the rubber hits the road.

I'd just let him speak. Ask him why he things God is bringing the disasters.

Rhetorically give him enough rope to hang himself.

All Good answers. Thanks for participating.

My guy seems to think that the end of the world is coming soon with the return of Jesus. He sees end time prophecies coming true.

I'm sure many hold the same beleif as him. But the same was the case in the early Church. As for me, I believe Jesus will come when he comes. Until then, we need to just need to keep ready by keeping the faith and doing what hurricanehelper suggests and keep on helping people.

Put another way, we should continue to love God and love neighbor. Sound familiar?
