Question of the day ??

Do you (or have you ever) gone to concerts? If so, what are some of the most memorable? What was the last one you went to?

Question inspired by a post at doodlebugmom.

As a kid I was into concerts because we lived out in the country and nothing to do but hang out and drink. So when a concert came to Memphis (about 35 miles away - a long way for me at that time), I was there. Did I mention I was into heavy metal as a teenager??

But the last one would have been Big Tent Revival (a contemporary Christian group).

I've seen performers that ranged from Ozzie to Michael Bolton, from Hank Williams, Jr to Audio Adrenaline. I don't know what that says about me though. ha ha.

My first concert was (how embarrassing)the Bay City Rollers. I was 11.

The best was John Micheal Montgomery, shortly after 9-11.

The last...do high school band concerts count? lol

My teenagers rave about Audio Adrenaline, they would be jealous.

Linda :o)

I saw Audio Adrenaline in Atlanta at Atlantafest a few years ago. I also saw the Elton John/Billy Joel tour. I saw them in Little Rock.

Concert season is in full swing now in south Georgia. We've got Alan Jackson tonight and Reliant K next week.

Best concerts (in no particular order): Lyle Lovett, John Prine, Steven Curtis Chapman with Sara Groves, Michael W. Smith with Mercy Me, Hank Williams Jr with Merle Haggard.

First concert: Around 1977 or so, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Black Oak Arkansas at Dothan, Alabama Civic Center

Most recent: Tobymac at Wild Adventures

Most memorable: three way tie:Janes Addiction at the Uptown Lounge, Athens, Georgia.

David Allen Coe at the Albany Georgia Civic Center. The Civic Center told him his show had to end at 11 PM. He insisted that he does his complete show every time and continued playing even after they pulled the plug on him.

Hank Williams Jr. as the featured show at the National Peanut Festival in Dothan, Alabama. Bosephus was so drunk that even after they brought him a chair because he couldn't stand, he fell out of the chair and they took him backstage and his band played without him for about 45 minutes.

Tony, Hank Williams, Jr. did the same thing in Memphis when I took my parents to see him as an anniversary present. I was a teenager and had never seen him and thought we could all enjoy the concert. Oh my goodness was I wrong. I was so embarrassed at the language. I could have stood it by myself, but I had my parents there with me.

Anyway, he left and everybody was waiting for an encore until finally the lights came on. I figure he passed out. He already couldn't remember half the words to the songs he sang.

The very worst concert I've ever seen.
