Commercials and other Advertisements!! People see "stuff" on TV that they beleive everybody wants (otherwise it wouldn't be on TV) and they have to buy it, which in return drives the cost of a pair of shoes from $20 to $120.

I would say televsion in general.

Each one of us can picture in our minds the images of the Kennedy assasiantion, whether they were alive when it happened or not. Same goes for the Iranian hostage images, Challenger explosion, 9-11, they lasit can go on and on.

On a lighter note, we all know who Lucy is, and Beaver, the Brady Bunch, the gang from Cheers, and Bart Simpson.

For better or worse, TV lets all of us see it all.
