Thought of the Day !!

If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD -- and he will repay you!
Proverbs 19:17 (NLT)

Where are the poor today? Who are the poor? They range from dying kids in Africa to people still not in homes in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast to people in the lower income areas around your area.

James tells us that real religion is caring for the widows and the orphans. These were the poor who could not take care of themselves in the first century.

We could take this a little further and say that the poor are not only those without much income. There are the poor in spirit, poor in opportunities, poor in hope.

Is there someone today that you need to lend some money to? Is there someone today that might need a helping hand or encouraging word from you? Is there someone that you know that has lost hope or faith in themselves, the system or God?

If we will help the poor, God will repay us.
