Question of the day ??

I read today where President Bush will soon announce his new Iraq plans. Who believes that the war in Iraq will lead to a Democrat in the oval office in 2008?

I think that is already a given. I think the only way that the Dem's could lose is if the new congress really screws up.

I was really surprised Bush was re-elected. Of course Kerry was not the best the democrats could have offered...anyway...

I would like to see a Democrat in the White House

I am just opposite of DB Mom in my expectations. I was not totally surprised that Bush won. And the reason is that I think the Republicans could have run a chimp and beat Kerry. He just didnt have what it takes I don't believe. I think Edwards would have been a better fit if he'd been in office a little longer. He may be on the ticket in 08. Or it may be Obama. But who will the Republicans choose. That is truly a good question. And will that person be going up against Hilliary????

McCain. He is a strong leader and a likable guy. As a democrat, I would hate to see him get the Republican nomination because he would be tough to beat.

I'm not so sure about McCain any more. I used to say the exact same thing. I used to think that he would be the only hope because he was pretty moderate and might get some of the more conservative Democrat votes (not the truly liberal vote though) and that may be enough to push him over. Now I think the Republicans don't trust him enough and the Dems have seen him "go to the dark side" by things like speaking at Jerry Fallwell's school. Just my opinion mind you.

I don't care who the Republicans put up, they are going to have to do some real strategizing to beat the Democrats in my opinion.

Greg,

I have become jaded. I have decided that I could care less as long as we have divided government. If the legislative branch is controled by the Democrats, then I want a Republican in the White House, and vice versa. As long as we have gridlock, anything other than really important legislation will get defeated or vetoed and the rest of us will have the safety in knowing that our pocket books will be secure.
