Thought of the Day !!

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

"Love each other deeply."  Can we just decide to love someone, or is it a feeling we really don't have much control over?  The answer is yes and yes.

Feelings will come and go.  And these feelings can be difficult to control  But true love is much more than a feeling.  True love is first a choice and then an action taken that's not based on feelings, but on that choice.  This is sacrificial love, the kind Jesus has for us.  This is what he commands when he says "As I have loved you, love one another."  This is also the kind of love Peter means when he says to "love each other deeply."

As Christians who've accepted Jesus, we have the power of the Holy Spirit in us.  This is where we find the ability to love others.  Instead of complaining about or ignoring or being angry at others, love them deeply, using the power of the Holy Spirit inside you.  This will cover a multitude of sins, making up for many things you've done wrong yourself.
