Question of the day ??
The new Harry Potter movie is playing at the theaters and the newest and last book is due out very soon.
Who is glad it's almost over (as far as the book goes)?
Who's sad?
Who couldn't give a flip?
Has the series been a good thing...a dark force of evil...or nothing more than another popular book/movie series that has made a single mother richer than the Queen of England herself?

Can't say that I have read any of the books myself. Seen all the movies though, I guess it doesn't bother me one way or another. Did help a generation worth of children learn to love reading which is never a bad thing.
My 12 year old is looking forward to both.
I must confess that I have enjoyed both the books and the movies. First got interested in them because a guy in my church wanted me to denounce them from the pulpit, and I refused to denounce it until I had read it. Once I read it, I loved it, and thought it clearly showed the difference between good and evil. Contrary to the concerns of the critics when this series appeared on the scene, our kids aren't being drawn into witchcraft and wicca as a result of the books and movies. My only concern with the series is that it is growing continually darker, with the death of one young person in an earlier book and another one supposed to die in the upcoming book. Too much, I think, for a series aimed at children.
gregory,
i totally agree. I have read the books and watched the movies and enjoyed both. both, however are getting darker. it might be a good thing that the series will end with this last book. i heard that two major characters would die. i also know that the last book ended with our hero kind of going to the dark side of hate and revenge, much like a darth vader type. i certainly hope that was only a cliffhanger. i think it will be a terrible shame if at the end good doesn't prevail and harry becomes a true good hero. if not, i think i may start the riots...ha ha
flip. (by the way, my word verification for this post is:
"fewarnts"...looks vaguely Potterish!)
OOOOhh Danny, must be a sign. :)
