Question of the day ??

If you had a worship service that could involve only one form of worship and nothing else, would it be the reading and preaching of God's Word, singing God's praises, prayer or the sharing of Christ's body and blood through Holy Communion?

I think you ask an impossible question. It's like asking a thirsty person to choose either oxygen or hydrogen. The parts are not equal to the whole.

Prayer.

Read "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire" by Jim Cymbala. An excellent testimony of making prayer the emphasis of ministry.

Excerpt:

"If we call upon the Lord, he has promised in his Word to answer, to bring the unsaved to himself, to pour out his Spirit among us. If we don't call upon the Lord, he has promised nothing - nothing at all. It's as simple as that. No matter what I preach or what we claim to believe in our heads, the future will depend upon our times of prayer. This is the engine that will drive the church."

What John B said.

At minimum: eucharist, prayer, Bible reading, and announcements.
